123D Make it Real Challenge

Anyone who shares a file in the 123D gallery and links to the file in a relevant Instructable where you show how it is converted to a physical object is eligible for a free thank you gift.

To be eligible for this gift:

  • First upload your file to the 123D gallery
  • Post a relevant Instructable and in it include a link to the related 123D file
  • Finally, share the url of your published Instructable in the description of your 123D file

    • To be eligible for a free 123D thank you gift, both the file and Instructable need to be posted between the dates of January 31st, 2012 through April 30th, 2012 . On May 1st we will go through all of the files posted between the dates specified and any that are cross-linked with a valid and relevant Instructable will receive their choice of a 123D T-shirt, Mug, or Thumb Drive.

    Also, when posting your Instructable, don't forget to enter the Instructables Make it Real Challenge for your chance to win over $100,000 worth of 3D printing-related prizes!

      Do you mean make it a real challenge to log into this site? I can’t even comment on the site anywhere else because it won’t let my Autodesk login to login and I can’t make any other type of account…

        Hey Todd, the login challenge is definitely not intentional. Could you email me at 123D@autodesk.com so we can discuss the details and figure out what the bug is, and get it fixed?

      Are there instructions anywhere on how to add something to the gallery? I uploaded an stl file, but a) the preview image is a generic cube, not my part, b) I don’t see any way to create a description, let alone link to my instructable, and c) it doesn’t turn up in gallery searches.

        I looked through the uploaded content on the gallery, but couldn’t find anything in there with your username attached to it! There was definitely a problem during upload.

        If you’ll email 123D@autodesk.com they should be able to walk you through it. Sorry for the bugs, we’re working on it! :)

      on may first should I check my instructables account or the email I supplied to autodesk. Because I think my email will reject an autodesk message.

        Check the email account you uploaded the content with – and the time for getting the thank you gift is extended to May 6th, so it’ll be happening then or after!

      I have posted multiple Make It Real contest entries but if I put an actual URL in the description it won’t be displayed in the gallery nor will my links from the instructable function… This concerns me as it is one of the rules for eligibility:

      First upload your file to the 123D gallery
      Post a relevant Instructable and in it include a link to the related 123D file
      Finally, share the url of your published Instructable in the description of your 123D file

        Putting the URL in the comments is just fine – we’re still working out a lot of bugs on the site, so as long as you’ve got that URL somewhere we will find it! :)

      As the deadline for the Make It Real Challenge has been extended to June 4th, is this offer also extended or are they independent of each other, as I have not got round to uploading the file into the 123D gallery yet although if this offer is now finished, I probably wont.
